On April 30, 2022, Nature For All connected a group of people to nature at Malibu Creek State Park, just 25 miles from downtown Los Angeles. The park is a top hiking destination with many trails and filled with breathtaking views. There were people there of many age groups, including seniors and children. The group of people arrived in a bus provided by Nature for All. There were people that came from as far as the San Gabriel Valley to enjoy at least for a little while the true beauty of getting out and enjoying nature that they don’t have in their neighborhoods. In Los Angeles County, 50% of residents live in park-poor neighborhoods and there are millions of urban county residents that don’t have nearby parks, backyards or even vehicles which ultimately turns out to a lack of access to the outdoors and nature. Nature for All’s mission is to build a diverse base of support to ensure that everyone, no matter what age, sex, or race has equitable access to the wide range of benefits that beauty of nature provides.
