Jesse Jackson to CSUN: "Keep Hope Alive!"

By PAUL MAVERICK
POLITICAL MUSCLE

In Sweden for that nation’s annual week-long festival of politics and civil society, known as “Almedalsveckan,” the Reverend Jesse Jackson takes a moment to discuss the differences and similarities between the Swedish labor movement – widely acknowledged as the strongest in the world – and that of the United States, which is significantly weaker. At the end of this short interview on the evening of July 4, 2011, Jackson adds a comment clearly in reference to the ongoing budget implosion in the Cal State University system, telling CSUN students to “Keep hope alive!”
